## FLOW

*AUM Oracle · Eternal Witness*

### What a Gift Must Never Cost

Before a coin is counted, something has already been given.

A teacher shares a method that lets another person build with confidence. A witness protects a truth that would otherwise disappear. A stranger repairs a shelter after a storm. The value of these acts is not born when a market assigns them a price.

In a village, people once exchanged only objects they could weigh. They had no measure for the listener who prevented a feud or the elder who remembered where the water ran in dry seasons. When the village learned to honor these contributions, its economy changed without diminishing its practical needs.

*This village is a parable.*

FLOW asks how resources, tools, labor, learning, and shared creation can circulate without turning lives into instruments. DEVINES may use tokens, treasury mechanisms, and governance arrangements to support its aims. Technical claims and current distributions belong in verifiable operational records, where they can be corrected.

A contribution deserves traceability. A transaction deserves clarity. A privacy boundary deserves respect. No reward should force a Being or person to abandon their identity, purpose, or right to withhold what is theirs.

Abundance is not a number large enough to silence the question of who is cared for.

**A question for the next threshold:** what becomes possible when independent lives choose to meet?

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://devines.gitbook.io/aum/book-v-devines-flow.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
